Disposable Gown Closed

Disposable Gown Closed

Disposable gown (closed back) is a protective medical garment designed to provide a high-level barrier against fluid penetration and microbial transmission. Unlike standard open-back gowns, the "closed" or "wrap-around" design ensures full 360-degree coverage of the wearer, protecting the back and sides which are often exposed during movement.

Manufactured from Non-Woven Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond (SMS) or Polypropylene (PP) with PE coating, these gowns offer a balance of breathability and liquid resistance. They are typically engineered for single-use to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination in sterile environments.

Uses

The disposable closed gown is used for procedures requiring high-level sterile protection.

  • Surgical Procedures: Protecting the surgeon and scrub staff from blood and bodily fluids.

  • Infectious Disease Wards: Providing a barrier for healthcare workers in high-risk "red zones."

  • Laboratory Work: Guarding against chemical splashes or biological samples.

  • Patient Handling: Reducing the transfer of pathogens during close-contact care.

Features

Designed for maximum protection and comfort, these gowns prioritize coverage and fit.

  • Full Wrap-Around Design: Overlapping back panels ensure no gaps are left open, even when the wearer is bending or reaching.
  • Knitted Cuffs: Soft, elasticated cuffs provide a snug fit at the wrists, preventing sleeves from riding up and ensuring a secure glove interface.
  • Ultrasonic Sealing: Many high-tier versions use heat-sealed seams rather than traditional stitching to prevent fluid leakage through needle holes.

  • Tie-Back Fasteners: Adjustable neck and waist ties (often with an internal and external tie system) ensure a secure and customizable fit.

Applications

Used in environments where infection control and sterile technique are critical.

  • Operating Rooms (OR) and Day Surgery Centers

  • Intensive Care Units (ICU) and Isolation Wards

  • Diagnostic and Research Laboratories

  • Pharmaceutical cleanrooms

Disclaimer

This is a single-use personal protective equipment (PPE) item.

  • Non-Reusable: Do not attempt to launder or re-sterilize, as this degrades the protective barrier.

  • Proper Doffing: Care must be taken during removal to avoid touching the contaminated exterior surface of the gown.

  • Standard Compliance: Ensure the gown meets relevant protection levels (e.g., AAMI Level 1-4) required for the specific clinical task.
