Caspro

Caspro

CASPRO™ is bioactive bone void filler based on inorganic calcium sulfate phases, supplied as a powder to be mixed with a liquid. It serves the dual purpose of bone graft and scaffold for local drug delivery in bone. Mixing the powder and liquid components in the prescribed ratio provides a self-setting paste, which could be moulded as beads or filled in a contained bony defect or cavity.

CASPRO™ contains bassanite crystals with orthophosphate modifiers, derived from implantation-grade gypsum via a patented ‘drowning out’ precipitation technique.

Why Choose CASPRO™

Excellent Contour Filling

CASPRO™ can effectively fill intricate contours of defect cavities due to its flowing consistency before setting.

Faster Repair

The material’s bioactivity and in vivo resorbability contributes to a quicker repair process.

Osteo-Transduction

The unique calcium sulfate-phosphate composition resorbs in tandem with new bone formation at the bone-cement interface.

No Polymeric Content

CASPRO™ is free of any polymeric content, which can interfere in the natural bone remodelling process.

CASPRO™ for Infected Sites

  • The cement acts as a Drug-Carrying Scaffold
  • It offers Controlled Drug Release.
  • Infection Mitigation
  • Choice of Antibiotics in both powder and liquid forms
  • Single Procedure for Infection Management and Grafting

For Bone Void Filling

CASPRO™ could be used for filling open bone voids or defects from trauma or surgery that do not affect skeletal stability (e.g., extremities, spine, pelvis)

For infected Sites

CASPRO™ could be used as a drug-carrying scaffold to release medication for infection control, subsequent to which the mass integrates with bone and helps in remodelling.
